Shitty Dad

This is a screen print made with an indirect printing method. The method of indirect screen printing uses emulsion to burn the image into the screen so that the ink can then pass through onto the paper. I used a combination of direct and indirect printing for this piece in order to get the crisp details through indirect and the larger shapes through the direct method.

I based this print on my childhood and family more so than my previous works. I drew on my Hispanic background and issues with my father. I focused on the overall piece rather than on just getting a laugh. This is actually quite a small print. the prints are 5x5.5 inches and I ended up having 16 prints in the end.
